March 23rd, 11am-5pm
at Brilliant Births: 1809 Fourth St Suite D, Berkeley, CA 94710
This skills training is for doulas, midwives, nurses and perinatal bodyworkers who have been in practice for a while and need to brush up on some skills, learn some new tricks and hone their craft. These skills and tools will aid you in supporting your clients in the perinatal period and support your own health and well being.
Topics include:
- Tried and true bodywork essentials: myofascial release, ligament massage, Psoas release techniques and applications
- The Level Pelvis Method with Dr. Ruch: a simple and profoundly helpful chiropractic technique by Dr. William Ruch D.C who entrusted me to teach his method to fellow birth workers, because as he put it: “This should be standard practice to everyone who cares for pregnant people” - Dr. Ruch will join us in person and co-teach with me!

- Rebozo skills refresher: Let’s practice what we already know and learn some new techniques and applications. I will have Authentic Mexican and Guatemalan rebozos for sale and we will honor the traditions and skills passed down to us from indigenous midwives.
- Spinning Babies Lab: let’s practice Spinning Babies and other body balancing techniques, and positions so you feel more confident using the tools you already have. Disclaimer: This is not a Spinning Babies workshop, I will not teach the basics, just want to help you remember and hone your technique.
- Burnout prevention: Dynamic Embodiment and Somatic Movement practices for self care to re-balance our nervous system, release stress, work through trauma and find our ground.
